Where to Stay
ESTES PARK is located in north-central Colorado, on the eastern slope of the Front Range. It's 90 miles northwest of Denver.

Reservations (and fees) to stay at this popular location in the summer are competitive. Thankfully, University of Wyoming has covered the costs of deposit, room guarantees and the meeting space rental for VisCom39; however, it is suggested conference attendees set up their place to stay as soon as possible.

STAY IN CONFERENCE BUILDING:
VisCom has a block of 15 rooms in one building, and each has two queen beds. April 19th is the cutoff for the hotel reservation for the block.
In order to receive the discounted rate ($219/night before taxes/fees), a code will be provided to you in an email from VisCom. There is no other room set-up available for this rate. These other room/locations on the grounds include larger suites or outdoor cabins.

OTHER OPTIONS:
Tent camping is also available. See link for reservations and fees required at the multiple locations in/near Estes Park.
Getting to Location
AIRPORT:
The closest major airport is Denver International, about 1.5 hours from the venue.
SHUTTLE FROM DIA:
This Estes Park Shuttle [www.estesparkshuttle.com] runs daily to/from Denver Airport for $135 round-trip. Book at least one week ahead.
The YMCA is just outside of town. If the shuttle doesn’t go directly to the location, you can take a short 10-minute ride on Lyft or Uber from Estes Park.

Things to Do
There’s a lot to do in the area from extensive outdoor exploration to kicking back with great food, drink and shopping in Estes Peak. Here are some ideas that are nearby:

1
Rocky Mountain
National Park
You can hike, stroll, or drive through the park—but a timed entry pass is required due to high visitation. For a scenic drive, Trail Ridge Road offers breathtaking views.

* The YMCA has trails adjacent to the park, offering a great hiking experience without needing a park pass.

2
Shopping, Strolling, Eating
Estes Park is a charming town near the venue, great for spending a half or full day exploring.
Nearby towns include Lyons, a much smaller but quaint option, and the larger college town of Boulder. Boulder is just over an hour away and offers great spots like Pearl Street for shopping and dining, or Chautauqua Park for hiking and views of the Flatiron Mountains.
3
Hiking + Other Outdoor Activities
The YMCA offers on-site trails, from short walks to half-day hikes. See information on the YMCA webpage or view this trail map.
For outdoor ideas before or after the conference, contact Ross Taylor. Colorado has everything from easy hikes to challenging 14ers and more.
Conference registration fees were due by April 15th to include you in the conference program and to get a count for the YMCA. An email from VisCom explained how to submit payments, which should be sent to Shane Epping (sepping@uwyo.edu) via Venmo or a check.
